How To Sew A Quick Hat
As most of you know, I am not a pattern designer, I am simply someone who loves to sew. I love playing with fabric and making things up as I go along. I know that not everyone likes to wing it, so here is the PDF showing you all the pieces you'd need to recreate this hat. It has been designed for my 3 /1/2 year old, so it is aimed at a head circumference of about 49cm (approx. 19 1/2 inches). To scale the pattern up or down, measure your head circumference, then englarge / shrink your print out until the smaller curved edge is a little larger than 1/4 of your measurement (use a scrap of thread to measure if you haven't got an easily curved ruler to hand!).
In this video, I used:
Just under 1/2 metre of felt

Thats a great looking hat! Now I have found a use for all that felt I have stashed away for years.. I hit a fabulous sale on felt a long time ago.. so it will now make costume hats for several great grandies!! They will love it! i could use a red one myself.. to become a member of “the red hat society”!!! It went together so easy, hope mine looks as good, thanks for sharing BEST, CHERYL
Thank you so much! I am so pleased it stitched up well for you too. My hat is 3 years old now and still my son’s favourite so I hope yours will stay popular for just as long!
